Brothers and Sisters

I’m writing further my last email to give an update on a few things relating to the Coronavirus

1. I have taken the decision to postpone our Evangelism training event this Wednesday. As I reflected on this I don’t believe we will have a critical mass to make the event a success, so we will postpone it until later in the year.

2. We are planning on live streaming our services from this Sunday. Just to confirm at present we are still meeting on Sunday, until we hear otherwise from the govt, but live streaming will mean those who are self-isolating at the moment will be able to still gather albeit virtually. With regard to how to live stream, we will be in touch with instructions and can take you through it. If the idea of live streaming freaks you out, and you are going to remain at home, I can had deliver a copy of the sermon to you.

3. We are putting into place pastoral care networks so that if a forced isolation comes into operation we can make sure those in our church family who are isolating are cared for and looked after.

4. Home groups at the moment are still meeting. Of course subject to careful hand washing and if you show any of the symptoms please do not attend. Of course there may be a time when we have to put them on hold, but as said above we are waiting on further govt advice on this.

Finally, whilst this is most definitely an unsettling time, our Lord and God is one who is control of all things. God grants a peace that can pass all understanding when we are in the midst of fear and worry. On Sunday I read an article which quoted CS Lewis, and I’ve put the link below. I found it a really helpful corrective for the these times.

If I can help in anyway, whether that’s a chat, to pray or help meet any physical needs please do give me and Jo a shout.
